The unrestricted freedom of travel within the Balearic Islands during the Easter holidays seduces many German citizens to quickly resort to flight bookings to Mallorca, Menorca, Formentera and Ibiza because of the associated relaxation of the coronavirus in their respective travel destinations. During the "Semana Santa" period, the restaurant terraces on the peninsulas are open until 10:00 p.m., on Fridays, Saturdays and before public holidays at least until 6:00 p.m. Mallorca closes the terraces at 5:00 p.m.
The statement by the President of the Aviba Travel Agency Association, Francesc Mulet, confirms that ship and flight connections to the above-mentioned destinations are already almost fully booked. Increasingly, total packages are also being booked, which include the flight, accommodation and a rental car.
The Balearic Islands are becoming more and more popular, for example because of the longer opening times of the catering terraces due to the falling corona incidence on the occasion of the exemplary behavior of the local citizens.
